Dr P.Marimuthu, Chairman of Biofarm Group Companies holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Tamil Nadu Agriculture university and a former Professor of Microbiology Department at Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore. He has over 33 years' experience in biofertilizer technology, anaerobic microbes, biogas production, industrial enzymes and probiotics. His vision is to translate scientific innovation to end users using proprietary technology and bring benefits to society through microbial management for integrated agriculture.
Dr Preethi Marimuthu, R & D Director holds a Bachelor's in Agricultural Biotechnology from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore, Master's degree in Drug Discovery and a PhD in Drug Delivery from the School of Pharmacy, University College London (UCL). She has been a director of Biofarm Group companies for the past six years and is responsible for R&D and new product development. She has about 10 years' experience in peptide and microbial formulations. She is actively involved in developing proprietary biological formulation for B2B customers. Her vision is to provide end-users with sustainable biological products in various sectors for better and safe livelihoods.
Mr Praveen Marimuthu, Chief Facility Officer holds a Bachelor in Mechanical engineering from Velammal engineering college, Chennai and Masters in Business Administration from Cardiff Business School, Wales. He is involved in the establishment of plants for various operations, from the processing of raw materials to the finished product.
Mr S. Udhayanan, Vice President (Business Development) graduated in Agriculture from Annamalai University, Chidambaram. Master’s in business administration from All India Management Association (AIMA),New Delhi. He has more than 45 years professional experience in Marketing, Heading various Agro input SBUs and PROJECT MANAGEMENT in corporates like SPIC, D1BP (JV of British Petroleum with D1 oils UK) and MANAGE, Hyderabad.
Dr K. Kumar,Vice President (R & D) holds a Ph.D in Agricultural Microbiology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore and Retired Professor of Agrl. Microbiology with 33 years of experience in Teaching, Research and Extension in this field at TNAU. He is former Professor & Head, Dept. of Agrl. Microbiology and the Director, Directorate of Natural Resource Management at TNAU. His field of specialization is Plant-microbe interactions, Microbial diversity & Bioprospecting and Biofertilizers technology. He is a recipient of Tamil Nadu Scientists Award in Agricultural Sciences for 2013 from TNSCST, Chennai and host of other awards.
Dr. Kumaresan Duraisamy, R & D Advisor is a leading expert in horticultural crops with a key focus on spices and plantations crops. He has >45 years of experience in research and technology transfer, firstly as Senior Scientist and Head for crop protection in Spices Board and later as a technical consultant and brand manager to various agro-input companies. He pioneered fertigation and biogation technologies for plantation crops leading to improved nutrient use efficiency. Recent focus includes the development of novel bio-inoculants/control agents and rhizosphere engineering to promote crop health.
Dr. R. Palaniappan, R & D Advisor had Ph.D in Chemistry with 50 years of wide experience in Product and Process Development in the area of Fertilizers, Petrochemicals, Speciality chemicals and Performance chemicals. Rich experience in industrial R&D management in Agrochemicals, Pharmaceutical active ingredients, Rubber processing chemicals and Speciality polymers. Developed and nurtured R&D in industries towards realization of commercial production. Worked in many industries as General Manager, Chief Technology officer, Vice President and Chief Advisor.
Dr. V. Udayasuriyan, R& D advisor had Ph.D., in Biotechnology from the University of Tokyo, Japan. Thirty eight years of service in TNAU includes responsibilities such as Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Chief coordinator of University Innovation Cluster (Sponsored by BIRAC), Director for Students Welfare. Principal Investigator for several national and foreign research grants to a sum of about Rs. five crores. Visiting scientist in the OSU, USA and NUS, Singapore. Has 40 peer reviewed publications and two patents. Honored by TNAU with gold medal for commercializing Bt research outcomes to bio-industries for about Rs. four crores.
